On the morning of May 18, NorthStar members gathered in person at St. Luke Lutheran Church in the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul.  Long-time member Marilyn Jacobsen inspired the group with her “intuitive painting” approach, then sent us off to begin our own intuitive paintings with lots of juicy color and saran-wrap textures. While waiting for those to dry, we were invited to choose and develop one of Marilyn’s “starter” paintings, work on projects of our own, or just mingle and “talk shop.” Many also chose to create one or more Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) and participate in an informal ATC Exchange. How fun to go home with a tiny piece of art! Meeting feedback indicated that everyone enjoyed the location, the afternoon meeting time and, most of all, the opportunity to meet in person and create together!
