NorthStar Watermedia Society is the oldest watermedia society in Minnesota with over 200 members from across the Twin Cities area, throughout Minnesota and into northwestern Wisconsin. The group promotes the artistic use of water-based media and is well known for lively and informative monthly meetings, art shows, and workshops which feature nationally and internationally known watermedia artists. Meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month September through June at the Roseville Oval at 7:00.

Member privileges include monthly membership meetings which include any of the following: painting demonstrations or critiques, slide shows, discussion of supplies and their sources, painting critiques or demonstrations, panel discussions featuring locally or nationally known watercolor artists who teach unique approaches to the media. In the summer, members may participate in plein air paintouts at various locations.

There are countless opportunities to participate in workshops, sales events, members’ only shows and monthly peer voting. Opportunities for involvement include membership on the board, committees and other volunteer positions.
