Dec 2012 Meeting: Holiday Party, Demo and Art Sale/Swap

Social Hour

Our annual holiday celebration starts off with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a favorite holiday dish to share. NSWS will provide coffee, tea, and hot cider.

Artist Demo

Our December demo will feature artist and Golden representative, Bonnie Cutts. During these last few years, Bonnie has made quite a name for herself in leading workshops and presentations demonstrating all the different applications Golden gels, mediums, and paints have to offer, as well leading hands-on workshops exploring and applying gels, mediums, and paint. Watch and hear about the inherent possibilities of acrylic materials and the potential for all sorts of applications using them. Learn about different absorbent surfaces such as Absorbent Ground, Acrylic Ground for Pastels and Light Molding Paste which work as grounds for lovely watercolor-like techniques using the faster drying fluid acrylics. You will have an opportunity to see how paints, grounds, and gels mix together, as well as see examples of materials in a variety of applications. This is a demo not to be missed! Bonnie will have Golden Information packets and free Golden samples for all attending!!!

Art Swap/Sale

Like the previous years, we will also have our annual Art Swap/Sale–your opportunity to clean your studio of materials you don’t use any more. Someone else will love them! Tables will be set up to hold your items. We look forward to seeing all of you at the event!

Reminder NSWS Members: Please be sure to pick up your Fall Show painting at Century College on Saturday, December 8, between 10 a.m. and noon. (Late retrievals incur a $20 fee.)
