About Artist

Artist Highlight

Patricia Choffrut is a professional watercolor artist who has worked in many subject areas, including portraits and figures, seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, and still life. Having lived for 20 years in the South of France, she is attracted to images of Europe. She has studied portrait/figure drawing and painting extensively, notably with Janet Rogers, Jeannie McGuire, and Ted Nuttall, and has had the privilege also of working with watercolor artists Andy Evansen, Dan Mondloch, Frank Zeller, Catherine Hearding, and Frank Webb.

To create a painting, Patricia seeks to show that momentary glimpse of a living story. The media of water and pigment, when allowed to find their own way, can create beautiful connections.

EXPERIENCE: Patricia has taught watercolor classes and workshops, participated in Twin Cities and larger MN art fairs and art events, created demo paintings for the U. of MN Duluth and for local art societies and events, and has sold her work in several MN art galleries. She exhibits regularly in regional and national shows and holds memberships in a number of national and regional art societies. She maintains a home studio and also paints commission portraits and other paintings.
