John’s workshop will focus on abstraction, encouraging representational painters to experiment with a different style and challenging experienced abstract painters to explore new possibilities in expressing their creative voices. On the final day of the workshop a connection will be made between the design elements explored through abstraction and their application to representational paintings. John’s workshop includes demonstrations, critiques and lots of individual help. Artists are encouraged to expand upon their current levels of understanding and become more comfortable applying the principles and elements of design to their work.
